Wonderful experience I had to return back with my kids the second time
i went down there and it was a gteat experience for me my aunt lives in SC she goes to the villiage often. Im going back this summer in june for the yemoja festival
I cant wait im so excited
Very disappointed. The tour was short with questions either avoided or unanwered. We we're excited about this village but just couldn't seem to get any real information about it.
The tour was excellent. The guide very informative and passionate. I would have liked to been given more information like how to volunteer, and how much the readings are and more information about the Ifa journey in general. The Sango Parade was very authentic. I really felt like I was on the motherland. All in all it was very enjoyable experience. I hope to return soon.
However...it's hot (but it's GA), bring water and/or Gatorade. You're not going to see an active village, more the remnants of the village that was highly active when they started in the 70s/80s. Like there are still ppl living there, but I think for a full experience, one should find out when one of their festivals are and go then. Otherwise, it's kind of just a nice history of the religious culture of the Oyotunji...which is still cool.
Okay...so0o here's the thing. First off, this is a legit place (as I have seen some reviews that are worried about scams). Second, the tour was highly education on the religious deities and cultural of the Oyotunji.
